First Class Sheet Metal Mechanic 
Pay -$40 (Locals only)
Job Description:

  • Cut, bend, and shape sheet metal using shears, brakes, punches, and rollers to create components and structures as per blueprints and job specifications.
  • Assemble fabricated sheet metal components into finished products, ensuring proper fit, alignment, and functionality according to assembly drawings and instructions.
  • Install and repair foundations, ventilation, bulkheads, shipboard furniture, and other sheet metal fabrication work.
  • Inspect fabricated parts and assemblies for defects, dimensional accuracy, and conformance to quality standards, adjusting as necessary to meet specifications.
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks on fabrication equipment, such as cleaning, lubricating, and replacing worn or damaged components, to ensure optimal performance and safety.
  • Adhere to safety protocols and procedures to prevent accidents and injuries in the workplace, including wearing appropriate personal protective equipment and following safe work practices.

Job Requirements:

  • Solid understanding of shipbuilding and/or manufacturing processes.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Must be able to read blueprints.
  • Must be able to work at heights and in confined spaces.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds on your own.

Key Responsibilities:
– Provide basic first aid and medical support for employees experiencing workplace injuries or illnesses
– Perform initial assessments, triage, take vital signs, and assist with emergency response
– Administer basic treatments, dressings, OTC medications, and follow-up care as directed
– Support injury documentation, medical records, and compliance tracking
