As a Machine Shop Supervisor, you must effectively lead a team in completing all jobs that require machining. As a supervisor, you must be able to both assist others on their machine, and complete jobs by yourself.

Duties and Responsibilities:
You will have several duties and responsibilities. These include, but are not limited to, the following:
• Track open/active jobs – ensuring the machine shop is supplying accurate parts in a timely manner.
• Program and set up several Mazak CNC lathes for machine operators. This could include working with engineering to design fixtures and setup tools.
• Program and set up several Mazak CNC mills for machine operators. This could include working with engineering to design fixtures and setup tools.
• Run batches of parts when possible
• Evaluate existing internal machine shop processes – improving where possible.
• Maintain a positive culture by encouraging team members and reporting any issues to your supervisor.
• Ensure the machine shop has an appropriate amount of tooling in stock – ordering new tooling when required.
• Select appropriate tooling for open jobs.
• Check parts after processing to ensure they match the supplied engineering prints.
• Maintain a clean, organized shop.

Required Qualifications:
• Proven experience as a CNC machinist.
• Proven experience operating both manual lathes and mills.
• Experience reading engineering prints and checking part tolerance.
• Experience leading a team in a manufacturing environment.
• Experience working with OEMs and suppliers to identify and purchase the correct tooling.
• Basic computer knowledge is required.
• Great communication and team leading skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience programming Mazatrol T Plus CNC controllers.
• Experience programming Mazatrol Smooth G CNC controllers.
• Experience optimizing toolpaths for maximum tool life and productivity.
• Experience safely operating overhead cranes.
• Experience safely operating forklift, pallet jack, and moving equipment.
Pay is up to $33 per hour DOE

Fabricates, assembles, installs, or repairs furnishings in ships or boats according to blueprints, using hand tools, power tools, and measuring instruments. 
TYPICAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Reads blueprints to determine dimensions of furnishings in ships or boats.  
  • Shapes and laminates wood to form parts of ship, using steam chambers, clamps, glue, and jigs.
  • Assembles and installs hardware, gaskets, floors, furnishings, or insulation, using adhesive, hand tools, and power tools. 
  • Repairs structural woodwork and replaces defective parts and equipment, using hand tools and power tools. 
  • Cuts wood or glass to specified dimensions, using hand tools and power tools.  
  • Constructs floors, doors, and partitions, using woodworking machines, hand tools, and power tools. Shapes irregular parts and trims excess material from bulkhead and furnishings to ensure fit meets specifications. 
  • Transfers dimensions or measurements of wood parts or bulkhead on plywood, using measuring instruments and marking devices. Greases gears and other moving parts of machines on ship.

 DESIRED SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE & ABILITIES:
