Traveling Superintendent – Commercial Roofing

We are assisting a well-established Commercial Roofing client with their need for a Traveling Superintendent. This role will be responsible for managing assigned crews to ensure that a project moves in the proper direction safely and profitably.

Responsibilities include:

  • Leading teams of 8-12 crew members, employees and subcontractors ensuring work is completed on schedule, within budget, and with the quality and workmanship expected by industry standards
  • Maintaining safety, quality, productivity, and morale within their projects
  • Setting daily goals and standards for their team
  • Holding teams accountable; measuring the progress of their crew toward the established quality, productivity, and safety goals
  • Managing materials for projects from acquisition to completion
  • Conducting inspection to ensure work complies with standards
  • Coordinating with other trades
  • Creating reports for the project manager on progress and changes in work
  • Conducting project safety inspections of jobs 

Experience/Skills:

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience overseeing commercial project
  • Commercial roofing experience highly preferred, but will consider general construction experience as well
  • Demonstrated leadership skills; experience leading crews of 8-12
  • Conversational Spanish is required
  • Must have ability to travel
  • Possess a high level of personal drive and responsibility

This direct hire traveling position offers company truck, gas card, hotel expense, meals per diem, cell phone, laptop, etc.

FirstFour is assisting a client with their search for a Professional Land Surveyor to work in Mobile, AL and surrounding areas.

 

This position will be responsible for directing, developing, and mentoring survey staff; scheduling; reviewing survey plans; resolving project-related technical problems, and maintaining workflow.

 

Must be competent and proficient in all aspects of boundary, ALTA, topographic, and construction surveying.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Scheduling and final deliverable coordination
  • Ability to prepare ALTA/NSPS Land Title Surveys and other boundary surveys, topographic surveys, subdivision plats, legal descriptions, and exhibits.
  • Support field crews with the production of field data and the preparation of calculations
  • Management of multiple projects for multiple clients
  • Visit job sites and consultant offices as needed to support the project.
  • Work within project scopes, deadlines, and budgets for projects
  • Quality control for all survey deliverables
  • Communicate and coordinate efforts.

 

Requirements/Skills:

  • Licensed Alabama Professional Surveyor
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience – intermediate or above level of expertise with all major technical aspects of surveying
  • Knowledge of the standard application of surveying techniques and procedures
  • Proficient in AutoCAD Civil3D – survey drafting experience.
  • Experience with survey equipment, such as GPS, Robotic Total Station and Scanners
  • Ability to read Construction Plans.
  • Highly proficient in mathematics and measurements
  • Knowledge of survey ethics and technical standards
  • Highly proficient in construction procedures
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong leadership qualities

Stick Welder

Welder – $22.00 / hr.

Working in the barge repair facility in the New Orleans area, the Welder will support the repair operations of this facility from 7:00am until 5:30pm Monday thru Thursday, and 7:00am until 3:30pm on Friday.  Candidates should have 3 years or more experience stick welding in a shipyard environment.

All approved candidates will be required to take and pass a stick welding test with 6011 Rod  in the vertical / overhead position on mild steel with one pass root and cap, no grinder.

Additional duties include:

  • Weld components according to blueprints 
  • Verify components welded meet company tolerances
  • Daily setup and equipment for each task
  • Grind and finish all welds
  • Perform daily maintenance and upkeep to assigned work areas
  • Attend and participate in daily safety meetings and promote a safe work environment
  • Perform assigned tasks given by shift supervisor
