Our Customer, a major shipyard in the Mobile area, is looking to add a Logistics Associate I to their team in Loxley, AL and their main facility in Mobile, AL.

Compensation: $16.00 per hour (this is a temp to perm position)

Must be able to operate a forklift (standup and sit down), work a variety of lifts, be able to operate company vehicles (as needed), load and unload deliveries, manage inventory through various systems and handheld devices, and tag parts.

Qualified candidates will have experience with the above, in addition to:

  • 2 Year's Warehouse Experience
  • Prior Logistician experience a plus
  • Must be proficient with Microsoft Office Suite

Shift

  • Monday – Friday 6am – 3:30pm (45 hours per week)
    • There is a rotation to cover the evening shift a few days per week where you would cover 3-4 hours into the night shift, but those additional hours typically come off your Friday time to make up for it (every 2-3 weeks)

Compensation

  • $15.00 / hour starting pay
    • Eligible for two increases your first year…once when you roll permanent and another at your annual evaluation

Requirements:

Must have at least 1 year of manual/CNC experience.
Must be able to operate manual mills, lathe, and drill presses.
Able to use measuring tools (dial calipers and micrometers).
Able to read and interpret blueprints, work orders, and work instructions.

Responsibilities:

  • Review the work order requirements and drawings, obtain fixtures and tools for preparation.
  • Set up and operate manual lathes/mills to perform a variety of machining operations.
  • Use manual tools to drill, tap, polish, lap, debur and degrease.
  • Set-up and/or operate various drill presses, punch press involving drilling, taping, reaming, countersinking.
  • Fabricate and shape parts out of metal.
  • Use jigs and fixtures, block or shim parts to level and align the irregular shaped parts
  • Rework quality issues into acceptable standards
  • Maintain work area, equipment and supplies in a neat and orderly condition

Cleaning and preparing the site areas for painting activities, including:

            -Staging the aircraft for work

            -Masking “non-paintable areas”

            -Cleaning, removal of old paint, and sanding (as necessary)

            -Positioning of stencils and other requirements for painting

Painting activities will include:

            -Mixing paint

            -Paint with electrostatic / HVLP equipment

            -Read / interpret drawings and specs to safely perform assigned work

            -Ensure all equipment is properly cleaned at the end of each shift / job

Must comply with all company policies and procedures, including the adherence to the HSE policy and properly wearing all PPE.

Working Conditions:

-Fast-paced environment inside aircraft hangar (climate controlled)

-Able to work safely at heights and/or confined spaces

Physical Requirements:

-Able to lift, crawl, kneel, bend, and rotate without restrictions

-Ability to walk / stand and climb stairs / scaffolding for majority of shift

-Able to lift to 50 lbs.

-Must be able to wear a respirator and other required PPE during shift
