Documentation Clerk – Export Distribution (Temp-to-Hire)
Pay: $20-$25 per hour
Schedule: Part-time, Monday–Friday, 4 hours/day (preferred 8–12 or 9–1; open to another fixed schedule)
About the Role
FirstFour Staffing is seeking a meticulous and organized Documentation Clerk to support export distribution activities for our client in downtown Mobile. You begin part-time on-site for training (about four months). For the right person, the role transitions to a hybrid schedule afterward, with the potential for future full-time hours. This is a temp-to-hire opportunity: you start on FirstFour Staffing’s payroll with the intent to convert to the client’s payroll after a successful evaluation period.
What You’ll Do
- Manage end-to-end order and shipping operations, including placing purchase orders and preparing pricing quotations.
- Communicate with manufacturing facilities’ shipping departments to align schedules and requirements.
- Coordinate shipments with freight forwarders and ensure timely, accurate processing and issuance of shipping documents.
- Track and document shipping status, addressing delays or exceptions as needed.
- Ensure the timely issuance and receipt of carrier bills of lading and maintain complete records.
- Communicate with customers via email and phone to provide updates and support.
- Maintain regular contact with service suppliers and customers to sustain service levels and resolve issues.
Preferred Qualifications
- Working knowledge of international shipping practices and documentation.
- Experience in sales distribution or wholesale operations.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Word; familiarity with CRM platforms.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- High level of organization with effective time- and priority-management.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Bilingual ability preferred.
