We are seeking a skilled and experienced Marine Electrician (3+ years’ experience) to join our team. Marine Electrician, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and testing electrical systems and equipment on a vessel. Your expertise with 480 volt is required.
Duties:
The Marine Electrician installs and repairs wiring, fixtures, and equipment for all electrical services aboard vessels and in the facility.
· Follows blueprints, schematics, and wiring diagrams.
· Installs conduit to bulkheads with brackets and screws and threads wires through conduit to terminals such as connection boxes, circuit breakers, voltage regulators and switch panels.
· Connects power-supply circuits to radio, radar, sonar, fire control and other electronic equipment.
· Tests electrical characteristics, such as voltage, resistance, and phase angle I circuits using meters and indicators.
· May construct and install instrument panels, using hand tools, rulers, dividers, and power drills, following specifications.
DESIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
· Knowledge of blueprints and drawings or schematics preferred.
· Must have experience with 480 volt hook up.
PAY
$29 hour – $1000 sign on bonus 18.00 / $120
(per diem is offered if you qualify 70 miles from Pascagoula, MS)

Qualified Candidates:
Should have a minimum of 4 years marine or industrial experience in pipe fitting
Basic math, reading and comprehension skills
Knowledge of the layout, fit-up, fabrication and installation of pipe, flanges and valves
Read and interpret trade drawings and/or blueprints utilizing both metric and standard measurements.
Must be able to read blueprints.
Must be able to pass hair follicle drug testing
Must be able to pass a 7 year background check.
Light Bill, Gas Bill or Water Bill for perdiem in your name.
First-Class Pipefitter, also referred to as a Journeyman Pipefitter, is responsible for fitting pipe consisting of various materials such as steel, galvanized, copper, copper-nickel and stainless along with the appropriate valves and fittings, utilizing various tools and equipment in accordance with drawing, arrangements and blue prints.

Compensation: 1st Class – $38.00 per hour plus $147.04 in daily per diem Must be 75 miles from the yard with a utility bill for perdiem Light, gas or water bill in your name. Must be able to pass a Hair Follicle Drug test
Qualified Candidates:
Should have a minimum of 5 years marine experience.
Must be proficient with SMAW and FCAW
Must be able to read blueprints.
Must have experience welding in the 2G, 3G, and 4G positions.
Be able to pass a vertical open butt on a 1/4-inch plate with metal backing strap.
US Citizenship or Perm Resident is required for this Navy yard.
