Position Overview

A growing commercial controls and building automation company is seeking an experienced Controls / Service Technician to join its expanding service division in Mobile, Alabama.

This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on controls professional who enjoys troubleshooting, working directly with customers, and solving complex HVAC controls issues. The service division is actively growing, giving the right person an opportunity to make an impact while building a long-term career with the company.

Candidates must have hands-on experience with both Honeywell and Schneider control components.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform service, troubleshooting, diagnostics, and repairs on commercial DDC control systems
  • Troubleshoot controllers, sensors, actuators, field devices, wiring, and communication networks
  • Perform system startups, commissioning support, and point-to-point verification
  • Diagnose and resolve HVAC controls issues in commercial facilities
  • Perform preventative maintenance and system optimization
  • Work with BACnet, Modbus, and other controls communication protocols
  • Read and interpret controls drawings, wiring diagrams, and sequences of operation
  • Communicate directly with customers regarding system issues, recommended solutions, and repairs
  • Document service calls, deficiencies, repairs, and recommendations
  • Identify opportunities for system upgrades, improvements, and additional service work
  • Collaborate with engineering, programming, project management, and installation teams as needed
  • Work independently in the field while maintaining a high level of customer service and professionalism

Qualifications

  • Required: Hands-on experience with Honeywell and Schneider control components
  • Experience working with commercial DDC/building automation systems
  • Strong understanding of commercial HVAC systems and sequences of operation
  • Ability to troubleshoot controls, electrical wiring, sensors, controllers, and field devices
  • Working knowledge of BACnet, Modbus, and controls communication networks
  • Experience with Niagara or similar building automation platforms is a plus
  • Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting abilities
  • Ability to read and understand controls drawings and wiring diagrams
  • Strong customer service and communication skills
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record
