FirstFour Staffing has partnered with an international organization that is seeking to add a Human Resources Generalist to their team in Mobile, Alabama.

****This role is an onsite opportunity and will be fulfilled on a “temp-to-hire” basis.

SUMMARY

The Human Resources Generalist will support and lead a broad scope of processes, procedures and policies. This individual will partner and support the HR business partners with all aspects of employee relations to ensure the organization attracts, retains, and builds a robust pipeline of internal and external talent.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide oversight and administrative and operational assistance in human resources reporting, employee relations and talent acquisition.
  • Assist with budget preparation and review.
  • Collect, compile, report, and analyze HR data.
  • Conduct audits of payroll, benefits, or other HR programs and recommend corrective actions.
  • Plan and execute special employee events such as service anniversary dinner, family day, company holiday parties, career fairs, and other events as needed.
  • Maintain employee files in ADP and remain in compliance of records and audits.
  • Serve as backup to payroll administration and processing.
  • Maintain employee handbook and review yearly or as required.
  • Lead full cycle recruiting for all assigned departments.
  • Lead bi-weekly staffing calls, reporting and providing status updates on open positions.
  • Discuss escalation process and make recommendations for sourcing.
  • Uses passive recruitment techniques to find talent using many platforms, networking, and other activities.
  • Train and coaches hiring managers on industry best practices, techniques, and legal interviewing processes.
  • Partner with business partners to understand talent development gaps in the organization and identify high potential talent internally for succession planning.
  • Work with HRBPs to develop job descriptions and job candidate profiles.
  • Review external benchmarking for talent and market skills, abilities, and requirements for open roles.
  • Ensure that we have consistency with the use of interview questions, interview guides and interview processes.
  • Use a broad and diverse sourcing pipeline to ensure we attract diverse talent.
  • Maintain effective relationships with social and professional networks to source qualified candidates
  • Lead the early career talent strategy related to internship programs.
  • Attend career fairs, networking and building strategic partnerships with universities and other technical schools.
  • Work with external recruiters, agencies, and outside vendors when appropriate.
  • Assist with full cycle recruiting responsibilities including sourcing, interviewing, debriefing, dispositioning candidates, and serving as the primary point of contact for all candidates.
  • Ensure that pre-employment activities are completed such as verifying references, background check, drug testing and other reports are completed and other pre-hire administrative responsibilities prior to hire date.
  • Lead and manage the ADP applicant tracking system ensuring the proper disposition of all candidates.

 

REQUIREMENTS

  • Education & Experience:
  • Bachelor's Degree required in Human Resources, Business Administration, Accounting, or other comparable discipline.
  • Minimum of two years accounting experience.
  • Minimum of two years prior recruiting experience (preferably in a corporate and or Maritime environment.)
  • Advanced experience with Microsoft Suite: Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Knowledge of recruiting systems and tools; applicant databases, tracking systems.
  • Preferred:
  • Experience utilizing ADP software system.
  • Certification in PHR, SHPR, SHRM-CP, or SHRM-SCP.

    • Proficient with analytical reasoning and critical thinking skills.
    • Expertise to review copious amounts of data, synthesize the data and communicate with stakeholders.
    • Demonstrated ability to work efficiently under conditions of multiple deadlines and changing priorities to produce a large volume of material with attention to detail.
    • Competence to maintain confidentiality.
    • Aptitude to exercise effective judgment, sensitivity, and creativity to changing business needs and situations.
    • Ability to work independently on a broad variety of projects with minimal guidance.
